Role Overview
You'll be the first security hire at a fast-growing hedge fund, building the function from the ground up with full ownership and no blueprint to follow.
This is a greenfield role: you'll come in and assess where things stand, close the obvious gaps across access controls and monitoring, and start building something that actually reflects how the firm operates.
Key Responsibilities
The interesting part is the AI angle. The firm is investing heavily across the business in AI tools and models, and right now there is no dedicated person thinking about what that means for security, which is the gap you'll fill. You'll think about data exfiltration risks, logging and monitoring for AI agents, and how the threat landscape shifts when the whole organisation is actively deploying these tools. Over time, you'll own the AI security tooling more broadly.

Requirements
- Comfortable being the only person in the room with this specialism.
- Ability to hold your own with stakeholders, get organisational buy-in, and move from identifying a problem to fixing it without needing a big team around you.
- Hands-on experience securing organisations against external threats, including AI-assisted phishing and intrusion attempts.
- Hands-on experience with coding in Python is also important.
