About The Role
Be the team behind the shield. Design, build, and strengthen the cyber defenses that protect critical services from current and emerging cyber threats. As a Cyber Security Engineer Graduate at Lloyds Banking Group, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the bank’s digital infrastructure, customer data, and operational resilience. This two-year program offers a unique opportunity to develop your expertise in cybersecurity, working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic environment. You will contribute to developing security controls, detection tools, and automation processes that reduce cyber risks and enhance the security posture of the organization. Qualifications
While a specific degree qualification is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate strong technical knowledge and skills relevant to the role. A solid foundation in programming, particularly in Python, is essential. Industry-recognized certifications related to Cloud & Infrastructure, DevOps & platform engineering, or security frameworks are highly desirable. The ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly is important, as is a proactive mindset and problem-solving aptitude. Candidates should also possess good communication skills and a collaborative approach, as the role involves working across diverse teams and technical disciplines. Note that Lloyds Banking Group cannot sponsor visas, so applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance security tools, controls, and services that enable safe innovation and operational agility.
- Create and implement solutions to protect customer data, systems, and infrastructure from cyber threats.
- Automate routine security checks, monitoring, and response activities to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
- Collaborate with software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to embed security best practices into the development lifecycle.
- Contribute to the improvement of detection capabilities, response mechanisms, and security policies.
- Participate in security assessments, risk analysis, and incident response activities to strengthen the bank’s security posture.
- Build secure infrastructure using code, leveraging tools like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Engage in continuous learning and development to stay current with evolving cyber threats and security technologies.
