Cyber Security Engineer (Plant Operations)

📍 Gaydon + Regular Travel to UK Manufacturing Sites

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to support the launch and delivery of vehicle cyber security technologies into manufacturing environments.

This is a highly practical, hands-on role where you'll be the cyber security expert on site, working directly with production teams, suppliers and engineering functions to investigate issues, implement fixes and ensure vehicles can successfully progress through build and release activities. You'll play a key role during vehicle launches, acting as the bridge between plant operations, ECU suppliers and central engineering teams whilst helping to resolve complex cyber security issues in real time.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the launch of vehicle cyber security features across new vehicle programmes
  • Analysing vehicle, ECU and End-of-Line (EOL) logs to diagnose cyber-related build issues
  • Leading issue investigation, triage, root cause analysis and resolution activities
  • Implementing and validating fixes on vehicles and test rigs
  • Debugging using CANoe, Wireshark and Corvus
  • Supporting manufacturing and EOL teams with cyber security processes and fault diagnosis
  • Producing launch readiness updates, issue reports and containment plans
  • Working closely with engineering, validation and supplier teams to prevent recurring issues

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
