Cyber Security Engineer I Leeds I Hybrid I £60k

My client is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer in the heart of Leeds. You’ll play a key role in protecting their systems, networks and data from evolving cyber threats. Working alongside IT, infrastructure and wider business teams, you’ll monitor security events, investigate incidents and help strengthen our overall security posture. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in cyber security while working on a varied range of technologies and real-world security challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and investigate security alerts, events and potential incidents.
  • Respond to and support the resolution of cyber security incidents.
  • Analyse logs and security data using SIEM and other security tooling.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and support remediation activities.
  • Assist with vulnerability scanning, penetration testing and security assessments.
  • Contribute to security policies, procedures and best-practice standards.
  • Support security awareness initiatives across the organisation.
  • Keep up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities and industry developments.
  • Work closely with IT and infrastructure teams to implement security improvements.
  • Assist with incident reporting, documentation and post-incident reviews.

You’ll ideally have experience with:

  • Security monitoring and incident response.
  • SIEM platforms and log analysis.
  • Networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S and firewalls.
  • Windows and/or Linux environments.
  • Vulnerability management and common security frameworks.
  • Microsoft 365 / Azure security technologies.
  • Cyber security principles, threats and attack techniques.
