Cyber Security Engineer

📍 Hybrid | Manchester - 2 days a week
💰 £40,000 + Bonus

They are one of the success stories coming out of Manchester. FinTech, interesting work, interesting sector, forward thinking company.

They are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer. This role is a blend of Security Operations, Detection Engineering, and Security Automation. You'll manage SIEM/EDR platforms, investigate incidents, build detection logic and playbooks, automate security processes using Python or PowerShell, lead vulnerability management, and work with development teams to improve application and cloud security.

You will also use AI-powered security tooling and automation to enhance detection capabilities, operations, and improve threat management.

Skills needed:

  • Hands-on SecOps experience - SIEM/EDR triage, investigation, incident response
  • Scripting (Python and/or PowerShell)
  • Logical thinker to be able to build detection logic, workflows, playbooks
  • SIEM/EDR experience (They use CrowdStrike/Sentinel but open)
  • Compliance frameworks exposure (ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2, SWIFT)
  • App-sec / secure code review exposure (SAST, DAST, SCA)
