Role Profile

We're looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join a high-performing security function responsible for protecting a critical national infrastructure environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on cyber security professional who enjoys building and improving security monitoring capabilities, enhancing security controls, and working collaboratively across technology, security and operational teams.

You'll play a key role in maintaining and developing our security tooling, improving threat detection capabilities, and ensuring our security operations remain effective in an evolving threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain and develop the Elastic SIEM platform.
  • Improve security monitoring, detection and response capabilities.
  • Support Security Operations Centre (SOC) and Network Operations Centre (NOC) activities.
  • Design and enhance security controls across AWS and Azure environments.
  • Support Data Loss Prevention (DLP) initiatives and associated controls.
  • Deliver log ingestion, transformation, normalisation and integration activities.
  • Work closely with Security Operations, Cloud, Security Architecture, Governance and wider technology teams.
  • Investigate security events and contribute to threat detection improvements.
  • Ensure security tooling effectively supports operational and business requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
