CCL Global are currently working with a leading public sector organization who are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity.

The successful applicant will play a key role in strengthening security operations, improving threat detection and response, and supporting the implementation of advanced security monitoring capabilities across critical services.

Location: London, Hybrid (2 days in the office and 3 days from home)

Type of Contract: 1-year contract

Day Rate: Inside IR35 (umbrella)

Key Duties

  • Implementing, configuring and managing Palo Alto Networks XSIAM to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Developing and maintaining security policies, rules and configurations to improve threat detection and response.
  • Integrating XSIAM with other security tools and information systems to automate security operations and workflows.
  • Monitoring and analyzing security alerts and incidents to identify trends, risks and potential threats.
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external partners to share threat intelligence and improve security awareness.
  • Providing technical support and guidance on cybersecurity matters to IT and business units.
  • Staying up to date with emerging security threats, technologies and Palo Alto Networks offerings.
  • Preparing and presenting reports on security incidents, trends and overall security effectiveness to senior management.
  • Supporting wider Security Operations, MIP and SOC teams as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Cyber Security Engineering or Senior Security Engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks XSIAM.
  • Experience developing, configuring and maintaining security policies and detections.
  • Good understanding of security operations, incident monitoring and threat analysis.
  • Experience integrating security platforms and automating workflows.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, stakeholders and external partners.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Experience producing reports and contributing to strategic security improvements.
  • Knowledge of government security standards and compliance frameworks would be beneficial.
