Cyber Security Intern (Remote – United Kingdom)

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking motivated and security-focused Cyber Security Interns to join their remote team in the United Kingdom. This internship is designed for students and recent graduates who are passionate about protecting digital systems, identifying security vulnerabilities, and learning industry best practices in cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing security events and alerts.
  • Support vulnerability assessments and basic security testing activities.
  • Help identify, investigate, and report potential security risks.
  • Assist in implementing cybersecurity policies and best practices.
  • Conduct security research on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
  • Support incident response activities and documentation.
  • Perform basic network and system security assessments.
  • Assist in reviewing security logs and preparing security reports.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve security awareness and compliance.
  • Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, tools, and technologies.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's or master's degree in cyber security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Security, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPN).
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and Linux.
  • Knowledge of common cybersecurity concepts, including malware, phishing, firewalls, and encryption.
  • Basic understanding of vulnerability assessment and risk management.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity tools is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Passion for cybersecurity and continuous learning.
