Position Overview
We are recruiting a Cybersecurity Intern on behalf of our client to support initiatives focused on protecting digital systems, applications, networks, and information assets.
This opportunity is ideal for an aspiring cybersecurity professional seeking practical exposure to security monitoring, vulnerability management, risk assessment, and security operations. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced technical and security teams, gaining insight into real-world cybersecurity practices while contributing to projects that strengthen the organisation’s overall security posture.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cybersecurity Intern, you will support the security team in identifying risks, monitoring threats, and strengthening the organisation’s overall security posture. Your responsibilities may include:
- Monitor security events, alerts, and potential indicators of compromise.
- Support vulnerability assessments and document identified security weaknesses.
- Research emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, attack methods, and industry developments.
- Assist with security reviews, risk assessments, and threat analysis activities.
- Help implement and review cybersecurity controls, policies, and operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate security documentation, incident records, assessment reports, and action logs.
- Support access management and other information security processes as required.
- Participate in security awareness initiatives and promote secure working practices.
- Work with technical teams to investigate, analyse, and document security-related issues.
- Contribute to security compliance activities and help ensure adherence to internal requirements.
- Escalate suspected security incidents, control weaknesses, and vulnerabilities through the appropriate channels.
- Support the continuous improvement of security monitoring, reporting, and incident response processes.

Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of fundamental cybersecurity concepts and security principles.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, operating systems, authentication mechanisms, and access controls.
- Familiarity with common cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
- Basic understanding of security monitoring, vulnerability assessment, or incident response concepts.
- Strong analytical and investigative abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive technical information with professionalism and discretion.
- Eagerness to continuously expand knowledge of emerging cybersecurity technologies and threats.
