Cyber Security Intern

Position Overview
We are recruiting a Cybersecurity Intern on behalf of our client to help protect digital systems, applications, networks, and information assets. This opportunity is ideal for students, recent graduates, and aspiring cybersecurity professionals who want to move beyond theory and gain practical exposure to security operations. You will work alongside experienced technical and security teams, supporting activities such as threat monitoring, vulnerability management, risk assessment, incident documentation, and security control improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security events, alerts, and potential indicators of compromise.
- Support vulnerability assessments and document identified weaknesses.
- Research emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, attack techniques, and industry developments.
- Assist with security reviews, risk assessments, and threat analysis exercises.
- Support the implementation and review of security controls, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate incident records, security reports, assessment documents, and action logs.
- Assist with access management and other information security processes.
- Contribute to security awareness initiatives and encourage secure working practices.
- Work with technical teams to investigate and document security-related issues.
- Support compliance activities and help maintain alignment with internal security requirements.
- Escalate suspected incidents, vulnerabilities, and control weaknesses through the correct channels.
- Contribute to the improvement of security monitoring, reporting, and incident response processes.

Who We’re Looking For
This opportunity may suit candidates who:
- Are studying towards or have recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related subject.
- Understand fundamental cybersecurity principles and security concepts.
- Have knowledge of networking, operating systems, authentication, and access controls.
- Are familiar with common cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
- Understand the basics of security monitoring, vulnerability assessment, or incident response.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Have excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Communicate clearly and work effectively with others.
- Can handle sensitive technical information responsibly and professionally.
- Show curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about emerging cybersecurity technologies and threats.
