About the Opportunity
We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients for the role of Cyber Security Intern. This remote internship opportunity is designed for students and recent graduates who are interested in cyber security, information protection, and defending digital environments against emerging security threats.
This internship provides practical exposure to security monitoring, vulnerability analysis, risk assessment, network protection, and cybersecurity practices while working in a professional and collaborative remote environment.

Role Overview
As a Cyber Security Intern, you will assist in supporting security operations by helping with threat monitoring, vulnerability assessments, security analysis, and implementation of cybersecurity practices. You will gain hands-on experience with security tools and methodologies while collaborating with experienced professionals on practical security projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring systems, networks, and applications for potential security issues.
- Support vulnerability assessments and basic security testing activities.
- Analyze security logs and assist in identifying unusual or suspicious activities.
- Help identify, document, and communicate security risks and findings.
- Support the implementation of security policies, controls, and recommended practices.
- Assist with incident response activities and security investigations under guidance.
- Participate in risk assessments and compliance-related activities.
- Maintain security documentation, reports, and technical records.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve security processes and system protection.
- Stay informed about current cyber threats, security technologies, and industry standards.

Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, and digital security practices.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating in a remote environment.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and common security threats.
- Basic knowledge of authentication, encryption, and access management concepts.
- Awareness of vulnerability assessment and security monitoring processes.
- Strong analytical abilities with problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to learn new cybersecurity tools, technologies, and techniques.
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of SIEM platforms and security monitoring solutions.
- Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite, or OWASP ZAP.
- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and web application security concepts.
- Basic scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Understanding of cloud security concepts across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or Cyber Essentials.
- Knowledge of incident response processes.
- Understanding of risk assessment and security documentation practices.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving approach.
