About the Company
We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients for the position of Cyber Security Intern. This remote internship is designed for motivated students and recent graduates who are passionate about cyber security, information security, and protecting digital systems from evolving threats.
About the Role
This opportunity provides practical exposure to security operations, vulnerability assessment, risk management, network security, and industry best practices while working in a collaborative remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring networks and systems for potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Support vulnerability assessments and basic security audits.
- Help analyse security logs and investigate suspicious activities.
- Assist in identifying, documenting, and reporting security risks.
- Support the implementation of security policies, controls, and best practices.
- Participate in incident response activities under supervision.
- Assist in conducting risk assessments and compliance-related tasks.
- Help maintain security documentation and technical reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system security.
- Stay updated with emerging cyber threats, security technologies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in cyber security, ethical hacking, and information security.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a remote environment.

Required Skills
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, VPN, Firewalls).
- Familiarity with operating systems including Windows and Linux.
- Basic knowledge of cyber security principles and common attack vectors.
- Understanding of authentication, encryption, and access control concepts.
- Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and security monitoring concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new security tools and technologies.
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of SIEM tools.
- Familiarity with Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite, or OWASP ZAP.
- Understanding of the OWASP Top 10 security risks.
- Basic scripting knowledge using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, or Cyber Essentials frameworks.
- Incident Response fundamentals.
- Risk Assessment and Security Documentation.
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving.
