Role Description
The Cyber Security Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Eastleigh, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The role is responsible for leading the organization’s cyber security posture, overseeing policies, controls, and risk management across applications, networks, and information systems.

- Monitoring security events
- Coordinating vulnerability assessments
- Managing incident response activities
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations
The Cyber Security Manager will work closely with IT teams, operational departments, and external partners to:
- Identify threats
- Implement security improvements
- Support secure technology projects
Additionally, the role involves:
- Developing security awareness initiatives
- Advising senior stakeholders on cyber risk
- Producing clear documentation and reports to support informed decision-making
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Cybersecurity and Information Security principles, including risk management, governance, and compliance.
- Experience in Application Security, including secure development practices, code review, and protection of business-critical applications.
- Demonstrated ability in Network Security, covering firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, secure network design, and segmentation.
- Hands-on experience with Vulnerability Assessment, including scanning, prioritization, remediation planning, and reporting.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, or equivalent) and experience in managing cyber security in complex organizations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident management skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience leading or coordinating cyber security initiatives, projects, or small teams, ideally within public sector or critical services environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and maintain confidentiality and professional integrity.
