About CyPro

We are an innovative cyber security start-up united in a shared mission: to redefine cyber security for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

Our Founders – Jonny & Rob - spent most of their early careers delivering cyber security for large enterprises and central government, and they saw a clear need for a new approach to cybersecurity, especially as small to medium-sized businesses became increasingly targeted by cyber criminals. Indeed, by 2022, SMBs were the focus of 75% of cyber attacks, largely due to them being easy targets.

We are growing quickly as a business and the next few years promise more of the same. Joining CyPro will allow you to become an integral part of our mission and join a team industry experts embarking on this exciting journey.

There are some elements of your role which are expected from all members of staff, irrespective of their grade or seniority.

  • Problem-Solving: ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of security issues effectively, both tactically and strategically.
  • Adaptability: ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Driven, Self-Starters: we are not a large FTSE organisation with a procedure for everything. You will need to be willing to put in the extra effort and operate in an environment often with little guardrails.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The Role

You will be in a dynamic, client-facing team, where you will manage the security needs of a number of high-growth clients through our consultancy and managed services offerings. You’ll work alongside a skilled team provided by CyPro, including a CISO, SOC Manager, Security Architects, Penetration Testers, and Cloud Security Specialists.

As a Cyber Security Manager, your role will be diverse and engaging, with responsibilities that span across 4 key areas; client delivery, practice development, people management and business development:

🏆 Client Delivery

  • At least five years working within cyber security, ideally with experience in a consulting capacity, at an MSSP or in-house within industry.
  • Proven ability to lead security projects, manage small security teams, and coordinate with stakeholders, including C-suite and technical teams.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and providing clear communication.
  • Deliver high quality work, including but not limited to;
    • Preparing for monthly executive and operational governance meetings.
    • Identifying and managing cyber risks, defining appropriate remedial actions.
    • Overseeing client certification audits, e.g. ISO 27001, CE+ and SOC2.
    • Supporting our Security Operations Centre during incident response, ensuring effective threat mitigation.
    • Raising cyber security awareness through our entertaining bulletin, blogs, phishing simulations and tabletop exercises.
    • Scoping, planning, and coordinating penetration tests to improve client security.
    • Co-ordinating the response to third-party due diligence questionnaires and assessing new vendors.
    • Ensuring you continue to make yourself marketable and credible to clients and prospects by maintaining professional accreditations.
  • A Manager would be expected to have 3-4 professional accreditations such as ISO27001 Lead Auditor, CISSP and CISM.

⚙️ Practice Development

  • Proactively identify opportunities for us to improve our internal operations and bring them to a Senior Manager, Director or Partner for review.
  • Drive forward activities that improve the operation of the company such as:
    • Designing and implementing new business processes.
    • Successfully implementing automation and AI to speed up client delivery (securely and controlled).
    • Maintaining a bank of client deliverable templates and assets.

🙋🏼 ♂️ People Management

  • Whilst no formal line management responsibilities as yet, a Manager effectively manages small delivery teams (2-3 people). Feedback from team members is positive.
  • Support recruitment efforts for the team, ensuring that top talent is hired to meet business needs.
  • Acting as a role model of professionalism for junior members of the team. For example, you;
    • Have mandatory training completed on time – no chasing required.
    • Task management in Teamwork is always up-to-date and organised.
    • Timesheets are never missing or late.
    • Helping juniors learn and foster a professional growth culture.
    • Supporting learning and performance management for junior team members.

📈 Business Development

  • Support the winning of new work for the company by:
    • Assuming the role of ‘Bid Manager’ ensuring all co-ordination for proposals and bids is done in due time, bids get submitted on time and to a high standard.
    • Contributing to discovery call minutes and proposals.
    • Attending networking events, client pitches and prospect discovery calls.
    • Performing outreach using our existing business development processes.
  • You become accustomed with the proposal writing process such that for small opportunities (£10,000-50,000) you can be trusted to scope and draft the proposal without input from a Senior Manager, Director or Partner.
  • Contribute to our thought leadership by regularly writing engaging cyber security blogs.
  • Contribute to the external CyPro brand, such as writing cyber security service pages for the CyPro website.
  • Whilst there is no formal sales target, you identify and originate small (£10,000-50,000) opportunities from existing clients.
  • You have an initial understanding of your own professional brand and how it impacts the company. i.e. starting to network, post insightful blogs on your LinkedIn, engage in online discussions regarding leading cyber security concepts, etc.

🧠 Soft Skills

There are a handful of ‘soft skills’ which are of critical importance when fulfilling a manager role. For example;

  • Effective – a manager is able to “make sh*t happen”. They are not someone who finds reasons why something didn’t happen. They constantly find ways round obstacles, gain traction and get things done.
  • Accountable & Humble – much like a professional athlete, you recognise that you hold the responsibility for your performance at work. The ego is left at the door. Managers are able to look inward, reflect and constantly identify areas for improvement.
  • Level-Headed – they are mature in their outlook at work and do not become over-whelmed when things are not going their way. A manager remains composed and stoic in the face of adversity, acting as a solid leader for their team to follow.

Interview Process

We operate differently. No long drawn out recruitment processes - we generally can get candidates through our process (from START to FINISH) within 10 days 🎉. Successful candidates can expect the following 2 stage process for this role:

  • 📞 Telephone Interview - a 20 minute initial chat with a Cyber Security Manager.
  • 🎮 Assessment Centre - a morning in our Canary Wharf office where we do some fun exercises together, psychometric testing and hold the final interview with our founders.
