About The Role
The Global DDoS security team are responsible for the delivery and in-life operational support for BT’s commercial DDoS customers. We work closely with key stakeholders, including our Product and Portfolio teams, Security Sales, and colleagues in Protect BT, to ensure the successful delivery of world class security solutions to our end customers.
Additionally, the support of new products and services is an important part of keeping pace with the industry and customer requirements and allows BT to maintain market position as key supplier of services. The role holder will therefore be expected to provide support in this area, working with confidence and initiative and applying excellent self management in order to promote successful outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing technical pre-sales support
- Engage customers directly to define, design and implement layered DDoS defence solutions and services.
- Providing 3rd Line support via On-Call during incidents.
- Create documentation including High/Low-Level Designs to support the delivery of our solutions

Essential Skills / Experience
- Skilled in creating attack mitigations strategies for DDoS attack vectors
- Networking and security implementation e.g. router implementation, configurations etc.
- Skilled in analysing IP addressing protocols
- Skilled working across three or more of the following areas, pre-sales support, design, implementation, in-life operations
- Excellent communications skills
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Have knowledge of networking and security implementation techniques.
- Be knowledgeable and have experience of DDoS and an understanding of attack vectors.
- Have experience in a customer facing environment, able to present technical solutions to varied stakeholders / audiences
- Have experience in IP technology i.e., IP address and protocols with recognised qualification or accreditation in the fields of network or security.
