Cyber Assurance Lead
Contract: 3 months initially
Rate: £675 per day, inside IR35
Location: Hybrid - London 2 days per week
We are looking for an experienced Cyber Assurance Lead to join a major, highly regulated infrastructure programme on an initial 3-month contract.
This is a key assurance role, responsible for providing independent oversight of cyber security controls, risk and compliance across a complex technology environment. You will work with technical teams and senior stakeholders to assess security posture, identify risks and ensure appropriate remediation is delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver cyber security assurance and audit activities.
- Assess the implementation, operation and effectiveness of cyber security controls.
- Conduct cyber security risk assessments and review risk management plans.
- Develop audit and assurance plans based on identified threats, vulnerabilities and business risks.
- Produce clear audit reports and communicate findings to both technical and senior audiences.
- Review compliance against relevant regulatory, legal and industry requirements.
- Provide specialist advice on cyber assurance, audit and risk management.
- Track remediation activity and challenge stakeholders where required to ensure actions are effectively closed.
- Help embed a strong security and assurance culture across the organisation.

Experience Required

- Proven experience in Cyber Security Risk Assessment and Assurance, ideally within a highly regulated or critical infrastructure environment.
- Strong experience leading cyber assurance audits and managing remediation activity.
- Experience working with Cyber Security Risk Management Plans.
- Strong knowledge of Azure security, including identity management and networking.
- Good understanding of Windows security controls, firewalls, security hardening and vulnerability management.
- Knowledge of cyber security governance, risk and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with recognised security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001 or COBIT.
- Relevant cyber security or audit certifications would be advantageous.
