Cyber Security Specialist – Vulnerability Management
Salary: Circa £60,000
Location: Bristol, Norwich or York
Are you someone who enjoys finding and fixing security weaknesses before they become problems?
We're looking for a Cyber Security Specialist to join our Vulnerability Management team. This could be the perfect role if you have experience in vulnerability management, cyber security engineering, or cloud security, and enjoy working across a complex technology environment.
You'll be someone who can balance technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement, helping teams understand security risks and driving improvements that make a real difference. If you enjoy solving problems, working with modern security tooling, and taking ownership of issues from identification through to resolution, we'd love to hear from you.
A bit about the job:
Our Vulnerability Management team plays a key role in protecting Aviva's systems, networks, and data. As a Cyber Security Specialist, you'll help identify, assess, and prioritize vulnerabilities across our technology estate, ensuring security risks are understood and effectively managed.
- You'll work closely with technology and business teams to strengthen our cyber security controls, support security assessments, and help reduce our attack surface.
- Alongside vulnerability management activities, you'll provide expert guidance on security best practice, support cloud security initiatives, and help us improve how we identify and respond to emerging threats.
- This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative team where you'll have the chance to influence security outcomes across a large organization while continuing to develop your technical expertise.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
