Technical Engineer Specialist
Location: London or Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 month initial contract
Day Rate: Competitive (via umbrella)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Engineer Specialist to join a large-scale infrastructure and security transformation programme within a highly regulated enterprise environment. This role will suit a technically strong infrastructure professional with excellent networking knowledge, stakeholder engagement skills, and exposure to CyberArk and Privileged Access Management (PAM) technologies. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the design, governance, and delivery of secure infrastructure solutions, working closely with engineers, architects, project teams, and business stakeholders to ensure successful technical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise across network and infrastructure technologies.
- Support the design, implementation, and governance of technical solutions within enterprise environments.
- Contribute to solution design discussions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, security standards, and architectural principles.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, architects, and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support technical governance, assurance activities, and change control processes.
- Assist with CyberArk discovery, onboarding, configuration, and support activities.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including design documentation, operational procedures, and implementation plans.
- Ensure solutions adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support during project delivery and transition into BAU support teams.

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking and infrastructure technologies.
- Proven experience supporting technical delivery within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Experience contributing to technical solution design and implementation projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple business areas.
- Experience working within structured governance and delivery frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience with CyberArk administration, implementation, or onboarding activities.
- Knowledge of Privileged Access Management (PAM) technologies and best practices.
- Background in Information Security or Cyber Security.
- Experience working within regulated financial services environments.
- Previous experience working within NatWest or a similar large banking organisation.
- Understanding of security, risk, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience supporting infrastructure modernisation or security transformation programmes.
