About the Role
The Cybersecurity Engineer II is responsible for ensuring Amcor has the proper visibility, detection, and protection to secure the organization. They provide strategic input on the IT security roadmap and deliver our comprehensive security strategy.
The role also oversees global information security design and integration, ensuring technology implementations are configured securely and appropriately. They implement, manage, and maintain our information security tools and technologies.
They serve as a technical expert on all matters of security and report directly to the IT Security Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to global IT security strategy, focusing on metrics, program improvements, and innovative ways to mitigate business risk while enhancing security posture.
- Lead identification, assessment, prioritisation, and remediation processes for cyber security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate on strategic roadmaps to strengthen systems and address vulnerabilities.
- Serve as a thought leader in security engineering and architecture, driving automation, analytics, and advanced threat analysis.
- Proactively advocate for policy improvements and provide technical recommendations for adjustments.
- Shift from detective controls to preventative controls to enhance security effectiveness.
- Evaluate current or emerging technologies, considering cost, security, compatibility, or usability, to align with the global security strategy.
- Drive adoption of new security technologies while supporting day-to-day activities such as:
- Incident handling and response
- Security monitoring and alerting
- Support incident response, which may require on-call duties and availability outside standard business hours.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or a related technical role (alternative combinations of experience, degrees, or certifications considered).
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with distributed teams.
- In-depth knowledge of current security technologies, including:
- Endpoint protection
- Vulnerability management
- SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems
- Strong expertise in:
- Network security
- Cloud security
- Endpoint protection
- Preferred certifications include:
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
- CISA (Certified Information Security Auditor)
