Role Description
This is a remote Cybersecurity Training and Internship role designed for individuals seeking practical experience while developing foundational cybersecurity skills. Participants will gain hands-on exposure to security monitoring, network analysis, vulnerability assessment, reconnaissance, digital forensics, and security testing.
Day-to-day activities may include working with cybersecurity tools and simulated environments to identify vulnerabilities, analyze network traffic, monitor security events, and investigate potential security incidents. Participants will follow a structured learning path, attend virtual training sessions, receive guidance and feedback on assigned projects, and collaborate with peers on practical cybersecurity exercises.

The program is ideal for students, recent graduates, aspiring cybersecurity professionals, and individuals looking to transition into cybersecurity while balancing academic or professional commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic security assessments and vulnerability identification in authorized lab environments.
- Conduct network scanning and reconnaissance using tools such as Nmap and OWASP Amass.
- Capture and analyze network traffic using Wireshark and TCPdump.
- Work with vulnerability assessment tools such as OpenVAS to identify security weaknesses.
- Monitor security events and alerts using platforms such as Wazuh and Snort.
- Analyze Windows system and process activity using Sysmon.
- Perform introductory memory forensics using Volatility.
- Gain exposure to reverse engineering and malware analysis using Ghidra.
- Document security findings and prepare technical reports.
- Assist in analyzing potential security incidents and recommending appropriate mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with mentors and peers on cybersecurity projects and practical exercises.
- Follow ethical hacking and responsible security practices in authorized environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field.
- 0–1 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, networking, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of computer networks, operating systems, and cybersecurity concepts.
- Familiarity with Linux or Windows environments is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and ports.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as Kali Linux, Nmap, Wireshark, or similar tools is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with mentors and peers.
- Strong interest in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, security analysis, or digital forensics.
