Job Opportunity: Registered Practitioner in Child and Young Peoples Mental Health Service

We are seeking a Registered Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist with recent experience working with children and young people with mental health difficulties or experience in mental health settings (please refer to the person specification for more information). The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivating, capable of case management, and will display excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential for establishing good working relationships.

Role Description

This role is for a qualified registered practitioner delivering profession-specific mental health interventions in accordance with an agreed care plan to an identified group of children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment of care needs.
  • Contributing to the formulation of the child/young person and family’s needs.
  • Development of a relevant plan based upon the child/young person and family’s negotiated goals and relevant evidence-based interventions.
  • Providing mental health evidenced-based interventions to support the child/young person and family in meeting their agreed goals.
  • Coordinating and/or participating in the review of progress towards those goals, utilizing agreed outcome measures, involving the child/young person and their family throughout their care.

About the Service

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within Child and Young Peoples Mental Health Service (CYPMH). As part of the team, you will deliver high-quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families, and carers. Working within a systemic and holistic framework, you will undertake needs-led, evidence-based, assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and young people, their families, and carers, who present to the service. These assessments will also include young people needing support due to deliberate self-harm. You will be supported by senior members of the team within this role.
