D2C Merchandising Executive - Onsite, Full Time
About Montane:
For over 30 years Montane has become famous for its innovative, lightweight breathable clothing and equipment for endurance sports and outdoor activities in extreme environments. Montane specialises in creating technical outdoor clothing, backpacks and accessories, where design and performance are of the highest quality. We have a friendly, dynamic and ambitious team motivated by a love of the outdoors and with a passion for producing exceptional products. Based in the North East of England, we are represented in many territories around the world and have a head office in Northumberland along with a showroom in the Lake District.
About the role:
Working onsite at our Head Office in Ashington, and reporting into the Digital & Ecommerce Manager the D2C Merchandising Executive will be responsible for all D2C website merchandising and will help shape and deliver the commercial, inventory and merchandising strategy for Montane.com. Working alongside the wider team to present product in the best possible setting whilst identifying commercial opportunities to drive sell through.
About you:
We’re looking for a Merchandiser or equivalent with two to five years’ merchandising experience preferably in an apparel or fashion retail environment. A mix of Ecommerce and retail experience is preferred but not essential.
You will be data driven with a strong understanding of D2C commercial strategy, stock-turn, and digital consumer behaviour. Reporting to the Digital & Ecommerce Manager, you will be joining a small team where you will be given the autonomy to be able to make real impact.

What you will do:
- Responsible for monitoring and selecting the D2C product range, reviewing, analysing and managing the sales and stock levels weekly, monthly and long term working closely with our supply and product team.
- Deliver seasonal product forecasting and range planning, inputting into product development and the shaping of the D2C inventory in line with agreed budgets & forecasts.
- Ensure "always-on" fulfilment for core bestsellers while using commercial strategy and visibility to move slow-selling lines.
- Oversee visual merchandising of category pages, product recommendations and product catalogue to support conversion rate, increase basket value and sell-through.
- Analyse and review product performance data in order to report weekly and monthly sales highlights presenting opportunities and challenges with actions.
Skills & Experience
- Strong numerical and analytical ability with an emphasis on attention to detail
- Efficient and accurate in Excel/Google Sheets to track sales, margins, and sell-through rates.
- Proven experience in Range Planning
- A track record of improving sales through strategic thinking
- Experience using CMS (Shopify is preferred)
