Location: East Sussex – hybrid, averaging approximately 3 days per week on-site
Rate: £500–£600 per day
IR35: Outside IR35
Contract: Initial 12 months

Role Overview
We are supporting a well-established UK business as they embark on a major Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance implementation.
As part of the programme, we are looking for an experienced D365 Finance Functional Consultant to join the client-side delivery team and provide hands-on functional expertise throughout the implementation.
Working closely with senior Finance stakeholders, internal SMEs, the Project Manager and the implementation partner, you will help ensure that business requirements are effectively translated into the D365 solution and that the organisation retains strong ownership of the programme.
This is a hands-on client-side position and would suit someone who has delivered multiple D365 Finance / D365 F&O implementations and is comfortable working autonomously within a relatively lean project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the client-side functional SME for Dynamics 365 Finance
- Work with Finance stakeholders to understand existing processes, requirements and future-state objectives
- Translate business requirements into effective D365 Finance solutions
- Work closely with the implementation partner throughout design and delivery
- Review and constructively challenge proposed solutions where appropriate
- Ensure the delivered solution remains aligned with business and Finance requirements
- Support process design, configuration decisions and solution validation
- Support data migration, cleansing, reconciliation and validation activities
- Support functional testing, UAT and defect resolution
- Work closely with internal Finance SMEs to prepare the business for implementation
- Help develop internal D365 knowledge and reduce long-term dependency on external partners
- Support the programme through key implementation stages including testing, cutover, go-live and hypercare

Experience Required
We are looking for an experienced D365 Finance professional who can operate independently and provide credible functional expertise to both the business and implementation partner.
You should have:
- Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance / D365 F&O
- Experience delivering multiple end-to-end D365 Finance implementations
- Strong knowledge across core Finance functionality, ideally including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank Management and financial reporting
- Experience gathering and translating Finance requirements into D365 solutions
- Good understanding of Finance processes and controls
- Experience supporting data migration and testing/UAT
- The confidence to challenge an implementation partner constructively and represent the client's interests
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience working directly with senior Finance stakeholders
- The ability to work autonomously as the primary D365 Finance functional specialist within a client-side team
- A formal accounting background or qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working Arrangements
The programme requires a meaningful on-site presence in East Sussex, averaging approximately 3 days per week.
There will be periods of greater on-site intensity around workshops, key delivery milestones, cutover and go-live, alongside greater flexibility where appropriate during other phases.
Candidates should therefore be comfortable travelling to East Sussex regularly and working closely with the business on-site.
