Functional IT Lead
ADI is looking for a Functional IT Lead to join our organization, leading our Microsoft D365 ERP Functional deployment in Europe, as part of our newly created D365 Center of Excellence team. The deployment will be run out of Oldham, Manchester, requiring the deployment team members spending approximately three weeks on site.
Job Duties
- Act as the functional IT lead for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, owning end-to-end finance process design and solution integrity
- Partner with Finance, Controlling, Tax, and Audit Super Users, SMEs and functional leaders to translate business requirements into scalable D365 Finance solutions
- Lead functional design across core finance areas including GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank Management, Budgeting, and Financial Reporting
- Own fit-gap analysis, functional specifications, and build and validation of system configuration
- Guide and review work delivered by system integrators and implementation partners, ensuring adherence to design standards and business objectives
- Design and Build Test Plans and oversee testing strategy (SIT, UAT), defect resolution, and solution sign-off from a finance perspective
- Ensure solutions comply with internal controls, SOX, audit, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate closely with Technical Leads, Integration teams, Data Migration, and Security roles
- Support cutover, go-live, and hypercare, ensuring operational readiness
- Act as a trusted advisor for continuous improvement, enhancements, and roadmap planning post go-live
You Must Have
- At least 10 years of experience working on ERP deployment projects
- Proven experience as a Functional Lead or Senior Functional Consultant for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance
- Deep functional expertise in core financial processes and accounting principles
- Hands-on experience with D365 Finance configuration and finance master data design
- Strong understanding of end-to-end ERP implementation lifecycle
- Experience working with external system integrators and managing functional deliverables
- Ability to bridge finance business language and IT/ERP concepts
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills
- Experience supporting UAT and finance sign-off activities
- Fluent English (written and spoken); additional European languages are a plus

We Value
- Experience in multi-country or multi-legal-entity environments
- Exposure to complex integrations (e.g., banks, tax engines, reporting tools)
- Knowledge of internal controls, SOX, audit, and compliance frameworks
- Prior experience in global rollout or template-based ERP programs
- Microsoft certifications related to Dynamics 365 Finance
- A structured, pragmatic mindset with strong ownership and accountability
- Ability to challenge requirements constructively and propose better solutions
