The Role
We are looking for an experienced D365 F&O Solution Architect to lead the end-to-end solution architecture for a major Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementation.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the ERP solution supports the organisation’s key finance, manufacturing, supply chain and operational processes, while providing a scalable architecture that integrates effectively with the wider technology landscape.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and implementation partners, you’ll provide architectural leadership across solution design, integrations, data migration and the transition away from legacy systems.
Your Responsibilities
ERP Solution Architecture
- Design and oversee the end-to-end solution architecture for the D365 Finance & Operations implementation.
- Define the ERP architecture, including integrations, data flows, system dependencies and technical design.
- Ensure the solution supports key finance, manufacturing, supply chain and operational processes.
- Ensure solutions align with Microsoft best practices, architecture principles and governance standards.
- Work closely with implementation partners and internal teams to ensure delivery follows the agreed architecture.
- Provide architectural guidance during solution design workshops, technical reviews and key decision points.
- Produce and maintain architecture documentation, including system designs, integration diagrams and technical specifications.
Manufacturing & Business Systems Alignment
- Work closely with manufacturing, operations, supply chain and finance teams to understand, map and optimise business processes.
- Ensure D365 F&O effectively supports areas including:
- Production planning and scheduling
- Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Shop floor control
- Inventory and warehouse management
- Procurement and supplier management
- Finance
- PLM
- CRM
- Reporting and analytics
- Support integration between D365 F&O and engineering, manufacturing and production systems.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve business processes through the ERP transformation.

Legacy System Transition
- Provide architectural guidance for the migration from Sage Line 500 and other legacy applications into the new ERP environment.
- Support the overall data migration strategy, including data mapping, transformation and validation.
- Help identify opportunities for system rationalisation and the removal of unnecessary legacy applications.
- Support process redesign and standardisation throughout the transition.
Integration & Data Architecture
- Design and oversee integrations between D365 F&O and other enterprise platforms.
- Define and manage data flows, system dependencies and integration patterns.
- Support integration across Azure, Power Platform and other enterprise technologies.
- Ensure data is structured, governed and transferred effectively across systems.
- Work with technical teams and implementation partners to resolve complex integration challenges.
Governance & Documentation
- Ensure the ERP architecture meets relevant legal, regulatory, security and industry standards.
- Support governance activities, technical assurance and internal/external audits where required.
- Maintain clear and accurate architectural and technical documentation.
- Identify and manage architectural risks, dependencies and technical issues.
Your Profile
We’re looking for an experienced ERP professional with strong D365 F&O architecture expertise and a background working across complex manufacturing and enterprise environments.
You’ll ideally have:
- Proven experience as an ERP Solution Architect, D365 F&O Solution Architect, Senior ERP Consultant or similar.
- Strong experience delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Dynamics AX implementations.
- Strong understanding of D365 F&O architecture, modules and enterprise system design.
- Experience designing enterprise ERP solutions across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Operations.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including production planning, BOM, inventory, procurement and shop floor operations.
- Experience designing and delivering ERP integrations with wider enterprise systems.
- Strong understanding of data flows, system dependencies and integration architecture.
- Experience supporting ERP data migration, including mapping, transformation and validation.
- Strong experience with Azure and/or Power Platform integration.
- Experience with Power BI and enterprise reporting.
- Previous experience working with or integrating legacy ERP platforms.
- Experience with Sage ERP systems, such as Sage 200, Sage X3, Sage Line 500 or similar, is highly desirable.
- Strong experience producing architecture documentation, technical specifications and integration designs.
- Understanding of ERP governance, compliance and documentation standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels of an organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications
- A third-level qualification in Computer Science, Business, IT or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience working in an ERP Solution Architect, Senior ERP Consultant or similar position.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering enterprise ERP solution architectures.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position based in Northern Ireland.
- Occasional overseas travel will be required.
- Some flexibility to work outside standard business hours may be required for critical incidents, maintenance and major system activities.
