Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced D365 Solution Architect / Functional Consultant to act as the senior Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform lead for a live, business-critical CRM environment.
The successful candidate will provide functional, technical, and operational leadership across the existing Dynamics 365 CRM and Power Platform environment, ensuring the service remains secure, stable, available, and fit for operational use.
You will act as a trusted escalation point for complex CRM issues, working closely with ICT teams, service users, suppliers, developers, and senior stakeholders to manage incidents, problems, changes, releases, risks, and operational dependencies.
The role will also contribute to the Council's longer-term transition from the current Dynamics 365 CRM platform to a future CRM solution.
Key Responsibilities
Live D365 CRM Service Management
- Act as the senior functional and technical lead for the live Dynamics 365 CRM service.
- Ensure day-to-day operational stability, availability, and support.
- Maintain and actively support the Dynamics 365 Customer Insights module.
- Maintain a clear understanding of the existing CRM configuration, business processes, integrations, data flows, permissions, and customizations.
- Provide practical advice on safely maintaining and changing the CRM environment.
- Work with ICT, service areas, suppliers, and users to understand operational issues, priorities, risks, and dependencies.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and support arrangements are maintained.
Incident, Problem, Change & Release Management
- Investigate and resolve complex Dynamics 365, Power Platform, integration, data, and performance issues.
- Act as a senior escalation point for critical and complex live-service incidents.
- Lead problem management and root-cause analysis.
- Identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions to reduce service disruption.
- Assess, prioritize, and manage changes to the live CRM environment.
- Ensure changes are appropriately tested, approved, and communicated.
- Support release planning, regression testing, deployment readiness, and post-release validation.
- Ensure incidents, problems, changes, and releases comply with governance, security, audit, and operational requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
