Purpose

The Data Architect strengthens the impact of, and provides recommendations on, business information that will need to be available and shared consistently across the organization through the identification, definition, and analysis of how information assets aid strategies and business outcomes. The Data Solutions Architect is responsible for discovering the data and analytics requirements for information for all uses and will be accountable for designing and evolving our data solutions, helping us provide a strong technical foundation as well as set of organisational practices for our journey to be a data driven organisation.

The D&A Architect will work closely with our internal teams as well as SI and partner teams on design, estimation and build phases of various initiatives, including Program Optimus to ensure Reporting requirements are captured.

Scope

This role will cover all regional business functions across TwiningsOvo businesses.

The role will be based in UK, with occasional international travel to other TwiningsOvo offices, including France, Switzerland, Thailand, China, Australia, UK and USA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the blueprint for Twining’s Data & Analytics Platform and Data Management solutions that enable the complete spectrum of analytics – from classic BI to advanced analytics (ML/AI) based use cases.
  • Influence Information Strategy by partnering with leadership teams in business units and leadership teams to provide strategic recommendations to maximize the value of information assets via their creation, access and use.
  • Co-ordinate with ABF/Twinings Security and Compliance teams to ensure new or existing solutions of new and existing solutions.
  • Create and own architecture diagrams for cloud based solutions that conform to best practices and the ability to transform this down to implementation phases to be handed over to Engineering teams.
  • For both local and global initiatives, provide architectural support to ensure solutions conform to our Global D&A strategy, with a roadmap and plan that allows us to move from current state to the future state as well as end state.
  • Partner with IT Teams globally to understand information challenges across ERP and other systems and own the delivery strategy across all source systems, internal and external.
  • Co-create compelling business cases by:
    • Building an understanding of Twinings Ovo value drivers to clearly articulate benefits for projects.
    • Helping business partners communicate the solution value to key stakeholders.
    • Participate in Technology supplier/product vendor sourcing selection activities (RFx processes), and commercial negotiations / supplier onboarding processes (define/refine criteria’s to be considered).
  • Support the analysis and evaluation of possible impact of changes to the existing application landscape and organisation and plan mitigation actions.
  • Support and actively engage in end to end delivery of Analytics projects from design, build, test and deployment, and transition into BAU support.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in architecting D&A solutions with a focus on owning the technical framework for the end to end landscape.
  • Background in analytics, and familiarity with how analytics/data-driven organisations embed data as a first class citizen. Deep understanding of the D&A technology space with a focus on SaaS/Cloud products.
  • Problem solving skills, including being able to bring expertise in structured analysis and design and programming skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including influencing skills.
  • Able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders in order to truly understand the underlying needs of the business.
  • Ability to influence decision making, comfortable with challenging and being challenged.
  • Experience of working with teams in multiple locations, and remotely.
  • Effective conceptualization and pattern recognition skills.
  • CPG industry experience.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced international business, comfortable with change and ambiguity. Able to deliver change to the business.
  • Thirst for knowledge, questions, seeks to understand and continues to learn. Excited by and keeps up to date with latest Technology developments. Proactively looking outside and proposing ideas.
  • A self-manager and motivator, able to prioritise and recognise when ownership and escalation appropriate.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organisation.
  • Awareness of Cyber Security and Information Security.
