Help us bring the Dads Kids Space to life
Dads Kids Club exists to improve outcomes for children by getting more fathers and male carers involved in their children's learning, development and educational lives.
We predominantly work with parents and children aged 4-11.
Our work responds to some big challenges: children’s disengagement from education, the need to create more opportunities for fathers to be involved in children’s learning and school life and the isolation and wellbeing challenges experienced by some men.
We want to create positive places and experiences where fathers and male carers can spend meaningful time learning, playing, making, reading and exploring with their children. Alongside our father-focused sessions, our All-Family Sundays will welcome parents and carers of all genders, siblings and the wider family.
DKC has delivered father-child programmes for three academic years, engaging more than 850 fathers and male carers and over 2,000 children.
We are a BBC London Community Group of the Year award winner and have received support from organisations including LEGO and Pan Macmillan.
We have now secured significant funding for an ambitious 12-month R&D project.
At its centre will be the Dads Kids Space in Central London.
We need two brilliant Operations Associates to help make it happen.
The Role
You will often be one of the first people families meet when they arrive.
Your job is to help make the Space feel welcoming, relaxed, safe, energetic and fun.
This is a hands-on role.
You might be welcoming a school group, helping a child with an activity, preparing materials, supporting a partner event, talking to parents, helping a volunteer or resetting the Space ready for the next session.
Because we're testing something new, we'll also want you to notice what happens. What do families love? What isn't quite working? What gets fathers involved? What gets children excited? What should we try next?

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We're Looking For
Lived experience of parenthood is essential for this role. Lived experience of fatherhood is desirable.
You could come from hospitality, events, education, youth work, museums, community organisations, sports, family attractions, customer experience or something completely different.
We're interested in what you can bring, not whether you've followed a traditional career path into this kind of work.
You will probably enjoy being around people, be confident interacting with children and adults and prefer an active working environment to sitting at a desk all day.
You'll use your initiative, be comfortable trying new things and enjoy being part of a small team.
Reliability is paramount. We want people who do what they say they will do, turn up when expected, communicate early if something changes and follow things through.
Professional experience with families, schools or children would be helpful but isn't essential if you have the right attitude and transferable skills.
What It's Like Working at DKC
We're small, ambitious and practical.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
Our principle is: Keep it simple, visible and up to date – enough structure to create clarity and continuity but not so much process that it slows delivery.
We want people to take responsibility, use their initiative and suggest better ways of doing things.
And we want to:
- Have loads of fun along the way
- Don't take ourselves too seriously
- Celebrate the wins
Working Pattern
These are three-day-a-week roles and regular weekend working is required.
The Space will operate across weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Weekend cover will be shared across the team and working patterns will be communicated as far in advance as reasonably possible.
Candidates should expect to work Saturdays and/or Sundays regularly.
Some evening activity may occasionally be required.
Safeguarding and Right to Work
Children's safety and wellbeing are central to everything we do.
An Enhanced DBS check with the Children's Barred List check will be undertaken before appointment, alongside satisfactory references and right-to-work checks.
DKC will provide Designated Safeguarding Lead training and the other safeguarding and compliance training needed for the role.
You must have the right to work in the UK. DKC is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role and a right-to-work check will be completed before appointment.
How to Apply
Please send the below to info@dadskids.club:
- Your CV
- A short (one side of A4 max) written application explaining why you're interested
- A short informal video (1-3 minutes long) telling us why you want to work at Dads Kids Club and what excites you about the Space. No need to overthink it, just be yourself :)
A phone video is completely fine. We're interested in your motivation, communication and what you would bring to the role rather than production quality.
Please let us know if you need any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process.
Closing date: Wednesday 21 October at 12 noon. Applications may be reviewed as they are received, so we encourage early applications. All applications received by the deadline will be considered.
