About The Role
Hyperion Partners are currently working with a leading housing association to recruit an experienced Damp & Mould Surveyor on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a surveyor with strong social housing, damp & mould and residential property experience to join an established property and asset team in Brixton.
You will be responsible for inspecting properties affected by damp and mould, identifying the underlying causes and specifying appropriate remedial works. You will also manage works through to completion, ensuring residents receive a high-quality service and that cases are dealt with within required timescales.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed inspections of residential properties experiencing damp, mould and condensation issues.
- Identify the root causes of damp and mould and recommend appropriate remedial solutions.
- Produce detailed Schedules of Works and Specifications, supported by photographs and clear recommendations.
- Instruct and manage specialist contractors to undertake remedial works.
- Carry out post-inspections to ensure works have been completed to the required standard.
- Manage a caseload of damp and mould cases, ensuring accurate records and timely updates.
- Liaise directly with residents, providing clear advice and keeping them informed throughout the process.
- Work closely with repairs, housing, asset management and compliance teams.
- Monitor contractor performance, quality of workmanship, health and safety and programme timescales.
- Support the management of complex repairs, complaints and disrepair cases where required.
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with relevant policies, procedures and statutory requirements.

About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Damp & Mould Surveyor, Building Surveyor, Repairs Surveyor or similar.
- Strong experience dealing with damp, mould and condensation within residential properties.
- Experience working within social housing, a housing association or local authority.
- A good understanding of building pathology and the ability to identify the underlying causes of damp and mould.
- Experience producing Schedules of Works / Specifications and managing remedial works through to completion.
- Experience managing contractors and carrying out quality inspections.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing directly with residents.
- An understanding of housing repairs, disrepair and resident complaints.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload whilst working to strict timescales.
