Role Description
The Damp Surveyor is a full-time, hybrid role based in the United Kingdom, combining on-site surveys across Dorset and Hampshire with some work from home for reporting and administration. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Visiting residential and commercial properties to assess damp, mould, and timber issues
- Conducting detailed inspections and using appropriate diagnostic tools to identify causes of moisture and decay
- Preparing clear, accurate survey reports and recommending suitable remedial treatments
- Explaining findings and solutions to clients in a professional, accessible manner
- Liaising with the operational team to schedule work, ensuring treatments align with survey recommendations
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety on-site
- Updating records, following company procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement of surveying methods and customer service

- Strong damp surveying and building diagnostics skills, including experience assessing moisture ingress, condensation, mould growth, and timber decay.
- Knowledge of building construction and materials, particularly in UK housing, and understanding of common structural and environmental causes of damp.
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate technical reports and treatment recommendations, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Competence in using relevant tools and technology (e.g., moisture meters, hygrometers, tablets or laptops for documentation and reporting).
- Solid planning, time management, and organizational skills to manage multiple site visits, reporting deadlines, and client appointments.
- Commitment to health and safety best practices, including safe working methods in domestic and commercial properties.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly within Dorset and Hampshire.
- Previous experience in damp proofing, surveying, building maintenance, or a related property services field is highly desirable.
- Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in surveying, building construction, or property care (e.g., PCA or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, use sound judgment on-site, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients in a professional, respectful manner.
