Role Description

The Dance Teacher will deliver engaging classes in various styles, including ballet, contemporary, and jazz, to students of different ages and skill levels. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role also involves:

  • Maintaining a safe studio environment
  • Collaborating with other instructors on curriculum and events
  • Communicating with students and families about progress and expectations

This is a contract, hybrid role based in Market Harborough, with most teaching taking place on-site and some planning, administration, and choreography preparation completed from home.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Dance Instruction and Dance Education.
  • Candidates should possess proven ability in Teaching and student mentorship.
  • Candidates should possess advanced practical skills in Dance across multiple styles.
  • Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Music to support rhythm, timing, and choreography.
  • Relevant qualifications such as formal dance training, certification in dance education, or a related degree are beneficial.
  • Experience working with diverse age groups, including children and adults, in a studio or school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, patience, and classroom management skills, with the ability to create an inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and collaborate within a small, creative team.
