Aurora Recovery

Aurora Recovery provides corporate insolvency, restructuring, and business recovery services. The successful candidate will join a professional, commercially focused environment and gain practical experience while developing a long-term career within the insolvency profession.

About the role:

Aurora Recovery is looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our insolvency and business recovery team. This is an entry-level position for someone who wants to develop a professional career within the insolvency and restructuring industry while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

No previous insolvency experience is required. Full technical and practical training will be provided. You will work alongside experienced insolvency professionals and gain first-hand experience of corporate insolvency assignments, including Creditors' Voluntary Liquidations (CVLs), Administrations, and Compulsory Liquidations.

As your technical knowledge develops, you will gradually take greater responsibility for individual aspects of cases under appropriate supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Opening, maintaining, and updating insolvency case files
  • Preparing standard statutory and case correspondence
  • Communicating with directors, creditors, employees, accountants, solicitors, and other stakeholders
  • Obtaining, organizing, and reviewing company books and records
  • Reviewing basic company financial information, bank statements, and accounting records
  • Processing creditor claims and proofs of debt
  • Maintaining accurate case records and electronic filing systems
  • Assisting with reports, notices, and correspondence to creditors
  • Monitoring statutory and internal case deadlines
  • Assisting with general case progression from appointment through to closure

What we are looking for:

  • An interest in business, finance, law, or accountancy
  • A genuine desire to learn and develop technical knowledge
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence working with numbers and basic financial information
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • The ability to manage tasks and work to deadlines
  • Confidence communicating by telephone and email
  • Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills, or a willingness to learn
  • A professional approach when dealing with directors, creditors, and clients
  • The ability to handle confidential and commercially sensitive information appropriately
  • A positive attitude and willingness to ask questions and learn from experienced colleagues

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

Working hours: 40 hours per week

Career progression:

Aurora Recovery is looking to develop people who can build a long-term career within the business. A typical progression route could be:

  • Apprentice Insolvency Administrator → Insolvency Administrator → Senior Insolvency Administrator → Case Manager

For individuals who demonstrate the appropriate ability and commitment, there may also be opportunities to undertake further professional insolvency qualifications as their career develops.
