Job Description
We’re looking for a Data, AI & Emerging Technology Risk Manager to join our Group Risk team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how we identify, understand and manage the risks associated with data, artificial intelligence and rapidly evolving technologies.
Working as a subject matter expert within the second line of defence, you’ll provide oversight and constructive challenge across the organisation. You’ll collaborate with colleagues throughout the business to strengthen risk frameworks, assess emerging trends and support the safe, responsible adoption of new technologies. You’ll also produce meaningful insights that help senior leaders make informed decisions and prepare for future risks.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing group-wide oversight of data, AI and emerging technology risk and control frameworks
- Partnering with divisional and group teams to strengthen controls, reduce risk exposure and support future growth
- Supporting the development of risk frameworks for areas such as AI agents, quantum computing, robotics, citizen development and low-code applications
- Reviewing data and AI policies, standards and frameworks and assessing how effectively they are embedded
- Monitoring emerging technologies and regulatory developments to identify potential risks and their impact on the organisation
- Producing clear research, insight papers and recommendations to support senior management decision-making
- Developing risk reporting, measures and metrics using information from the organisation’s risk management systems
- Providing subject matter expertise on technology and change initiatives to support fair treatment and positive customer outcomes

Who we’re looking for:
- Experience in data, AI, technology or operational risk, governance or audit, ideally within financial services
- Strong knowledge of data governance and management, including data architecture, ownership, stewardship, quality and master data management
- An understanding of AI, cloud platforms and emerging technologies such as quantum computing, robotics and AI agents
- Experience overseeing risk processes and assessing data, AI, technology or privacy-related issues
- The ability to analyse complex information, identify potential risks and translate findings into practical recommendations
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with an inclusive and collaborative approach
- Experience aligning risk management frameworks with wider business strategy
- A relevant degree, equivalent industry experience or professional qualification such as CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CDMP or DCAM would be beneficial but is not essential
