Role Overview
Method Resourcing are delighted to partner with a prestigious Asset Manager based in the City of London looking to hire a Data Engineer to join their talented team. This role works closely in a small team with the Head of IT, with broad stakeholder engagement across the wider business.
The role is initially focused on "pure" Data Engineering with a later focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning as the business incorporates these technologies over time.
City of London based, 2/3 days a week in the office.
Responsibilities
Data Platform & Quality
- Maintain the data platform for reliability, performance, and integrity
- Monitor data flows, resolve quality issues, and identify root causes with colleagues
- Run validation, reconciliation, and exception reporting for operational/regulatory needs

Engineering & Automation
- Build and improve SQL pipelines, ETL processes, and Snowflake solutions
- Strengthen data architecture, governance, metadata, and lineage
- Automate manual processes and support practical AI solutions across the business
Business Engagement
- Partner with Operations, Investments, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Compliance, and Client Services to translate needs into solutions
- Advise on data/automation/AI initiatives and report on key quality metrics
- Support the firm's wider data and technology strategy

Continuous Improvement
- Simplify processes, challenge the status quo, and improve automation
- Help build controls that reduce risk and improve data confidence
About You
- Advanced SQL - the ability to write, optimise, and troubleshoot complex queries
- Technical degree ideally in a STEM subject
- 2+ years relevant industry experience
- Experience in Financial Services nice to have
- Experience with Snowflake nice to have
