Location: Fully remote, UK based

Versende is partnering with a leading End Point Assessment Organisation to grow their technical assessment team. We're looking for experienced practitioners who are ready to move into a rewarding independent assessment role. This is a fantastic opportunity for a data or AI professional who wants to step away from day to day delivery pressure and instead put their expertise to work validating and recognising the next generation of technical talent.

We have priority openings for assessors who can deliver end point assessment across the following standards:

  • Data Engineer (Level 5)
  • Machine Learning Engineer (Level 6)
  • AI Engineer (Level 7)

The role

As an Independent End Point Assessor, you'll conduct the final, independent assessment that confirms an apprentice is fully competent in their occupation. Day to day, you'll:

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Review portfolios of evidence
  • Assess technical projects and reports
  • Conduct professional discussions and interviews
  • Observe practical work where required
  • Grade against the standard fairly and consistently

You'll write clear, well-evidenced assessment decisions, feed into standardisation activity to keep grading consistent across the team, and make sure every judgement is robust enough to stand up to external quality assurance. It's a role that rewards technical depth, sharp judgement, and genuine integrity.

What we're looking for

Strong hands-on experience in data engineering, machine learning, or artificial intelligence is essential, as you'll be assessing candidates against real occupational competence. What matters most is deep subject knowledge, the confidence to make and defend independent judgements, and a genuine commitment to maintaining standards. Familiarity with apprenticeship standards, assessment plans, and external quality assurance is a real plus. You'll need to be organised, self-motivated, and comfortable managing your own diary in a remote setting.
