About the Role
As a team:
Working across industry groups, our Data & AI team combines deep technology, business and industry expertise to design and deliver some of the largest, most challenging and highest profile data and AI solutions in the world. We operate across Financial Services, Resources, Products, Communications and Health & Public Services.
Our practice is built around three strategic capabilities: AI Platform Engineering, AI Pipelines, and Data Products. Together these capabilities cover the full spectrum of modern data and AI delivery — from the cloud infrastructure and platforms that underpin AI workloads, through the pipelines that move and transform data at scale, to the data products that turn engineering effort into lasting business value.
At Senior Manager level, you will play a defining role in how we grow and differentiate this practice. You will bring significant depth of technical knowledge — across one or more of our three capability areas — and the ability to deploy that knowledge credibly at the most senior levels of our clients’ organisations. You will shape strategy, lead complex programmes, develop our people, and drive the commercial agenda that underpins our growth. Our Senior Managers operate at the frontier of how AI is transforming data and platform engineering, and are expected to lead that conversation — with clients, with the market, and within Accenture.
Responsibilities
As a Data & AI Senior Manager, you will:
- Define and lead AI-enabled transformation programmes spanning data engineering, platform engineering and data product delivery — shaping how clients adopt AI not just as a technology but as a fundamental change to how they operate and compete
- Provide senior technical leadership across complex, multi-disciplinary engagements — bringing depth of knowledge in one or more of AI Platform Engineering, AI Pipelines or Data Products, and the breadth to engage credibly across all three
- Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders — CTOs, Heads of Data and Platform Engineering, CDOs and technology executives — acting as a strategic advisor and trusted partner, not just a delivery lead
- Shape client technology strategies and roadmaps, including AI-native platform design, AI-powered pipeline modernisation, data product operating models and agentic transformation programmes
- Drive AI-SDLC adoption and AI-assisted engineering at scale — defining the operating models, tooling standards and governance frameworks that allow large engineering teams to deliver faster, more reliably and with higher quality
- Design and oversee operating models for agentic and human-in-the-loop data and platform operations — helping clients understand how to transition from manual and rule-based operations to autonomous, AI-governed workflows responsibly and at scale
- Lead the commercial agenda — owning opportunity identification, shaping bids and proposals, developing pricing strategies and supporting contract negotiations across data and AI engagements
- Govern AI risk, security, compliance and responsible AI within data and platform engineering solutions — ensuring our delivery meets the highest standards of technical integrity and ethical practice
- Develop propositions, thought leadership, points of view and market-facing assets that position Accenture at the forefront of AI-powered data and platform engineering
- Build, lead and develop large multidisciplinary teams — spanning Data Engineering, Platform Engineering, AI and Data Product disciplines — fostering technical excellence, inclusive culture and career growth
- Contribute to the growth of our Data & AI practice — through recruitment, capability development, knowledge sharing and the creation of reusable accelerators, frameworks and delivery assets

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements
We are looking for significant experience in the following:
- Deep technical expertise in one or more of: AI Platform Engineering (cloud infrastructure, AIOps, intelligent automation, platform architecture); AI Pipelines and Data Engineering (pipeline modernisation, AI-assisted delivery, agentic data operations, data quality at scale); or Data Products (consumption-first design, data product operating models, AI-accelerated product delivery)
- Proven track record of leading complex, enterprise-scale data and AI programmes from strategy through to production and operationalisation
- Senior stakeholder engagement — demonstrated ability to build trusted advisory relationships with CTOs, CDOs, Heads of Engineering and other senior technology leaders
- Commercial experience — including opportunity shaping, bid leadership, pricing and contract engagement across large technology programmes
- AI strategy and transformation leadership — experience defining how AI changes the way engineering teams work, not just what they build
- Agentic AI and AI operating model design — experience shaping or delivering operating models for autonomous or human-in-the-loop AI systems at enterprise scale
- Responsible AI and AI governance — familiarity with AI risk frameworks, regulatory considerations and the practical application of responsible AI principles in delivery
- Experience growing and leading high-performing, multidisciplinary engineering teams in a consulting or professional services environment
- Strong understanding of the hyperscaler and data platform ecosystem — Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric — and how these combine to form enterprise AI-ready architectures
