Data & AI Strategy Manager

Location: London, Hybrid

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading global insurance organisation to appoint a Data & AI Strategy & Value Senior Manager into its Group Data function.

Sitting at the intersection of Data, AI, business strategy, technology, and transformation, you will help shape the organisation’s enterprise Data & AI direction, align priorities across multiple divisions, and provide oversight of a significant portfolio of strategic investment.

You will play a central role within the Group Data function, with responsibility for:

  • Shaping and refreshing the enterprise Data & AI strategy, working across Group and divisional leadership.
  • Translating strategic objectives into clear priorities, OKRs, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Aligning Data & AI priorities across multiple business divisions and functions.
  • Leading the development of business cases for major Data & AI investments, clearly articulating benefits, costs, and expected value.
  • Establishing frameworks for value realisation, benefits tracking, and investment assurance across the Data & AI portfolio.
  • Providing oversight of strategic initiatives, identifying execution risks, and challenging where programmes are not delivering expected outcomes.
  • Ensuring Data & AI investment and value creation is clearly communicated at Board, Executive, and senior leadership level.
  • Partnering with Heads of Data, Technology, Transformation, and senior business stakeholders to drive alignment and execution.
  • Influencing enterprise-wide outcomes within a complex, matrixed organisation without relying on formal authority.

You will ideally bring:

  • Significant experience in Data Strategy, AI Strategy, Data Transformation, or Data & AI Portfolio Strategy.
  • Experience shaping or contributing to enterprise-level Data and/or AI strategies.
  • Strong experience across value realisation, benefits tracking, investment assurance, and business case development.
  • Previous experience within the insurance industry, with an understanding of areas such as underwriting, broking, claims, and wider insurance operations.
  • A combination of experience within a major consulting environment and an in-house industry role.
  • Experience operating across large, complex, and highly regulated organisations.
  • The ability to align multiple divisions and senior stakeholders around a common strategy and set of priorities.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to challenge whether Data & AI programmes are delivering genuine enterprise value.
  • Experience preparing strategy papers, investment cases, and materials for Executive and Board-level audiences.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
