Overview

A leading financial services institution is seeking a Senior / Lead Data Analyst to join a business-facing data team. This role will work closely with stakeholders across the bank to deliver data-driven insights, support strategic decision-making, and help drive the organisation's cloud-based data transformation initiatives.

The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and stakeholder management skills with hands-on expertise in modern cloud data technologies, data modelling, reporting, and ETL development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into data solutions and actionable insights.
  • Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reporting and dashboard solutions for business users.
  • Build and optimise data pipelines and ETL processes within a cloud environment.
  • Support data quality, governance, and data management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, product owners, and business teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data analytics methodologies and reporting capabilities.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, Senior Data Analyst, Lead Data Analyst, or similar role within banking or financial services.
  • Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Advanced knowledge of BigQuery for data analysis and optimisation.
  • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining ETL pipelines using Cloud Composer.
  • Strong Python programming skills for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience with business intelligence and visualisation tools, including:
    • Looker
    • Qlik Sense
  • Excellent SQL and data modelling expertise.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and business analysis skills.
  • Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments.
