Job Title: Data Analyst
Location: The Acre, Covent Garden, London - Hybrid working (avg 1 day per month in the office)
Type: 12 month fixed term contract
We are recruiting two Data Analysts to join us on 12 month fixed term contracts. You will support a strategic initiative that will modernise our core customer-facing platforms and introduce more flexible subscription and eCommerce capabilities.
This initiative comprises two distinct data workstreams:
- Migration workstream: Focused on planning, executing and validating the transfer of customer and subscription data across systems
- Content & catalogue workstream: Focused on establishing and managing the flows that move catalogue and content data through BSI’s new infrastructure.
Together, these roles will help ensure that information is accurate, well-managed and available where it is needed. They will support reliable migration, validation and reporting, as well as ongoing operational readiness across the relevant business and technology teams.
This is a role for someone who works independently and does not need close management. We need a self-starter who can pick up an ambiguous problem, set their own priorities, diagnose issues end to end across business and technical boundaries, and decide what needs doing rather than waiting to be told.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data quality frameworks, controls and automated validation processes to ensure accurate, reliable data across the business.
- Design and deliver scalable Power BI dashboards, reports and data models that provide actionable insights and support informed decision-making.
- Lead data testing, validation and reconciliation activities, identifying issues and driving root-cause resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted data SME, translating business requirements into effective data solutions and communicating technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Build strong relationships across programme teams, technology partners and business stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
- Create and maintain clear documentation of data flows, mappings, rules and processes to support governance and knowledge sharing.
- Support end-to-end data migration activities, including data assessment, cleansing, validation and lifecycle management, ensuring secure and accurate data transfer.
- Manage and optimise data and metadata integration processes, ensuring the integrity, performance and reliability of catalogue and content management systems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Advanced Excel (data reconciliation, manipulation, analysis).
- Working proficiency in Python (or equivalent) for data manipulation, automation and quality checks.
- Demonstrable experience across a range of project or programme environments, with the judgement to work independently, set priorities and deliver with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrable experience with data quality frameworks and governance.
- Experience working in Azure and cloud-based environments.
- Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Migration focus: hands-on experience of data migration and transformation projects.
- Content & catalogue focus: working familiarity with structured content formats, XML in particular, sufficient to diagnose issues at file level.
Desirable
- Experience with CRM and ERP platforms such as Salesforce and SAP.
- Familiarity with subscription and ecommerce data.
- Experience with catalogue, PIM or content management systems, including their taxonomies and metadata models.
- Familiarity with ETL or orchestration tooling, APIs, or version control (git).
- Experience working with data lakes.
- Exposure to standards publishing or similar regulated content domains.
- Lean / Six Sigma or equivalent process improvement methodology.
