About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join a prominent Northern Irish organization that is actively investing in data-driven initiatives, automation, and artificial intelligence. This hybrid role, based in Belfast with flexible working arrangements, offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic Business Transformation function. The successful candidate will take ownership of reporting and analytical requirements across a complex, multi-business environment, working closely with a Data Engineer and various stakeholders from finance, operations, IT, and transformation teams. The role provides a platform to develop expertise in modern Microsoft technologies such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, Copilot, and Dynamics 365 F&O, enabling the candidate to broaden their skill set beyond traditional reporting responsibilities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst, or Reporting Analyst role. Strong proficiency in SQL querying, data analysis, and developing reports and dashboards using Power BI is essential. Candidates should have excellent Excel skills, particularly when working with large datasets, and practical experience with Power Query or similar data transformation tools. A solid analytical mindset, keen attention to detail, and a commitment to data accuracy are critical. The ability to gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate complex analysis into clear insights is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate confidence in managing priorities independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.

Additional advantageous skills include familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Dynamics 365 F&O, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps), DAX, data modelling, dataflows, Power BI gateways, AI-enabled analytics such as Copilot, and knowledge of data governance or reporting standards. Experience working with financial, commercial, agricultural, or commodity-related data will also be considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Managing business requests for data, analysis, and management information to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand, clarify, and define reporting requirements and business needs.
  • Writing, maintaining, and optimizing SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis tasks.
  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing Power BI dashboards and reporting suites to deliver actionable insights.
  • Producing KPI, operational, financial, and commercial reports to monitor business performance.
  • Analyzing complex datasets to identify trends, anomalies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Presenting analytical findings and insights to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders in an understandable manner.
  • Supporting data quality initiatives, validation activities, and reporting governance to ensure data integrity.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation covering reporting logic, ownership, and standards to ensure consistency and transparency.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline or automate manual reporting processes, increasing efficiency.
  • Supporting technical data development projects in collaboration with an experienced Data Engineer.
  • Contributing to Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, Copilot, and AI initiatives to enhance data capabilities and innovation.
