About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Debt Analyst to join our vibrant finance team in Cheshire. This full-time, office-based position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing business within the retail and consumer finance landscape. As a Debt Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in managing high-volume customer accounts, reconciling complex financial data, and supporting key business decisions through detailed reporting and analysis. Your responsibilities will include investigating account discrepancies, supporting month-end processes, and working closely with both Finance and Commercial teams to mitigate financial risks and enhance operational efficiency. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and making a tangible impact within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong financial analytical skills and a proven track record in handling large datasets. Essential qualifications include:
- Significant experience in reconciling high volumes of financial data, preferably within Accounts Receivable, Debt Analysis, or Credit Control roles.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including functions such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, capable of liaising effectively across Finance and Commercial teams.
- Previous experience with Sage, Sage X3, or credit reporting tools is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A proactive approach to process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Debt Analyst include:
- Reconciling high-volume customer accounts and ensuring accuracy across multiple financial platforms.
- Producing detailed debt, risk, and performance reports for key customer accounts to inform decision-making.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies within customer accounts promptly and accurately.
- Posting and reconciling customer payments, maintaining data integrity across various systems.
- Supporting month-end closing activities and ensuring the debtors ledger remains accurate and up-to-date.
- Reviewing customer credit information and assisting in credit risk assessments to minimize financial exposure.
- Collaborating with Commercial teams to manage customer accounts effectively and reduce financial risk.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
