Job Description

Who are we?

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices, underpinned by science and research.

The MHRA Digital and Technology Group (DTG) exists to help protect and improve public health by enabling the Agency to become a modern, intelligence-led regulator.

We bring together digital, data, technology, cyber security and artificial intelligence expertise to deliver services, platforms and insights that support the regulation of medicines, medical devices and healthcare technologies across the UK.

Our work goes beyond traditional IT. We design and deliver user-centred services, harness trusted data, apply advanced analytics and responsible AI, and build secure, resilient digital foundations that help the MHRA make better decisions, work more effectively and respond to a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

By joining DTG, you'll help shape the future of regulation while delivering technology that makes a real difference to public health.

The Technology & Service Operations (TSO) function embedded within DTG oversees the management of IT infrastructure, encompassing databases and a variety of technology platforms across both software and hardware domains. TSO is responsible for maintaining applications, either directly or through the supervision of outsourced service delivery providers, including Agency IT and helpdesk services. Additionally, TSO leads the development, quality assurance (QA), and transition processes for new software and hardware infrastructure.

You’ll be joining a forward-thinking TSO - Engineering team where your ideas will be valued. We’re looking for someone who can challenge existing processes, improve reporting methods, and help modernise how data is used across the organisation. If you enjoy asking “why?”, finding smarter ways of working, and turning numbers into stories people understand, this role offers the platform to do exactly that.

Role Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, spotting trends, and using data to create meaningful change. You’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders across operational and executive teams, transforming raw data into compelling reports, forecasts, and performance insights that influence strategy and day-to-day delivery. From measuring reporting performance and support levels to identifying root causes and solve end user’s complex reports and dossiers, your work will have visible impact from day one.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
