Position Description

As a Data Analyst, you'll play a key role in helping our client unlock the value of data by transforming complex information into actionable insights. Working with modern Azure technologies and powerful analytics tools, you'll contribute to projects that improve reporting, inform strategic decisions and support the delivery of critical national infrastructure. Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will support one of our major UK Government transport programmes by analysing business and operational data to improve reporting, generate actionable insights and enable evidence-based decision making. You'll work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements, identify opportunities for improvement and develop scalable reporting solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies.

You'll collaborate with technical and business teams to transform raw data into meaningful visualisations and dashboards, helping clients gain greater visibility into performance and operational trends. As part of CGI's collaborative consulting environment, you'll have opportunities to expand your technical skills while contributing to projects that deliver measurable business value.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse & interpret business and operational data to support client decision-making
- Develop & maintain SQL queries for data extraction, transformation and analysis
- Build & enhance Power BI dashboards and reports
- Design & support Azure Data Factory pipelines for data integration
- Collaborate & engage with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements
- Identify & improve data quality, accuracy and consistency
- Automate & streamline reporting processes using Python where appropriate
- Translate & communicate analytical findings into clear business insights
- Support & contribute to continuous improvement of reporting capabilities
- Work & collaborate across technical and business teams to deliver client outcomes
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
You'll have strong analytical skills combined with practical experience working with modern data platforms and business intelligence tools. You'll enjoy solving complex data challenges, communicating insights clearly and working collaboratively with stakeholders to improve reporting and decision-making.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience as a Data Analyst within a business or technology environment
- Strong SQL skills for querying, analysing and manipulating data
- Experience using Microsoft Azure data technologies
- Practical experience with Azure Data Factory
- Strong Power BI dashboard and report development skills
- Experience using Python for data analysis or automation
- Strong business analysis and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to interpret complex datasets and present meaningful insights
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
