About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst with a current SC clearance to join our team and support the final phase of a performance management and data improvement programme within a large government data environment. This role involves working collaboratively across various teams, including Data Owners, Category Leads, and technical specialists, to enhance performance metrics, develop insightful dashboards, and improve data quality and availability. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in transitioning these capabilities into Business As Usual (BAU) operations, ensuring sustainable and continuous performance improvements.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business and data analysis, with proven experience working within complex data environments or technology programmes. A relevant degree in Data Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Candidates must hold an active SC clearance or be eligible to obtain one. Demonstrable experience in defining KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements, along with proficiency in dashboard development and BI tools, is essential. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders are key attributes for success in this role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
