About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Semiconductor Process Engineer to join our dynamic team at Wolfspeed Services UK Limited. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes for our wide-bandgap semiconductor devices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of semiconductor technology, contributing to the development of next-generation power electronics. The Process Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, quality assurance, and production to ensure process efficiency, quality, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation in semiconductor manufacturing.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or higher qualification is preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, process development, or related roles. Familiarity with cleanroom protocols, wafer fabrication processes, and semiconductor equipment is essential. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot complex process issues are critical. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment are also required. Knowledge of wide-bandgap semiconductor materials and related industry standards will be considered an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and validate manufacturing processes for silicon carbide and gallium nitride semiconductor devices.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to transfer new processes from development to production scale.
- Monitor process performance metrics and implement continuous improvements to enhance yield, quality, and efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis on process deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of process procedures, changes, and validation activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems.
- Provide technical support to production teams and troubleshoot process-related issues in real-time.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and process upgrades.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in semiconductor fabrication technologies and incorporate best practices.
