About the role:
Working within the UK Data Management Team, responsible specifically for LH1 Valuation Data, you will work with our Lead Analysts to ensure data updates & delivery of LH1 Valuation Data.
This will include being responsible for and having oversight of translating and validating client data, production of CLR ready Valuation Portfolio data and producing data analysis and reports for internal clients (Valuation team) regarding valuation portfolio data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute and manage data transformation scripts to produce Valuation portfolio data.
- Data cleansing, profiling, mapping and mining of Valuation portfolio data.
- Support and deliver various ad-hoc reporting needs for internal clients regarding the Valuation portfolio data.
- Support business requirement gathering activities, especially on their data and reporting needs that relate to valuation portfolio data and how that will be utilised in wider process improvements/projects.
- Ensure client data used for Valuation portfolio delivery is stored in consistent format and in line with treaty arrangements.
- Support and improve where possible processes and/or tools used in the team in relation to the Valuation portfolio delivery.
- Determining, monitoring and reporting the availability, quality and consistency of client data used in Valuation Portfolio deliveries.
- Liaison with internal clients to fully understand data content to maximise the benefits to the business, uncovering possible weaknesses and working for their correction.
- Gather, understand and document detailed business requirements for data using appropriate tools and techniques, and ensure these are agreed at all levels throughout the business.
- Managing own work priorities; working in a highly organised way.
- Managing colleagues’ expectations.
- Ensuring data used in various work streams are of good quality and up to date.
- Working independently or together with colleagues as appropriate.
- Produce quality written and numerical material appropriate to purpose.

Key Skills & Experience:
Essential
- Demonstrable Data Processing / Handling and Data Analysis skills.
- Professional experience in a Data Analyst role.
- SQL Scripting, R, Python, Power BI, Advanced MS Excel.
- Cloud Based Data Platform (Azure, Databricks) Git and version control practices.
- High level of numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex data issues effectively.

Desirable
- Understanding of Insurance / Reinsurance Business.
- Demonstrable experience working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL etc).
- Knowledge of data science, including machine learning, statistical analysis, and AI tools.
