About The Role
Hays Technology is seeking an experienced Power BI Data Analyst to join a key project within a prominent public sector organization. This role is initially a 3-month contract, focusing on enhancing data quality, consolidation, and reporting capabilities to support a critical compliance initiative driven by new legislative requirements. The successful candidate will play a vital role in transforming fragmented data sources into actionable insights, enabling the organization to proactively identify risks, streamline operations, and improve service delivery. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data analysis and visualization, with proven experience in Power BI development. Essential qualifications include advanced skills in data cleansing, transformation, and modeling, along with proficiency in Power Query, DAX, and Excel. Experience in consolidating multiple datasets into a reliable analytical model and developing predictive or risk-scoring analytics is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Additional preferred qualifications include knowledge of SQL, database analysis, geospatial analysis, and familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Assess and enhance the quality, consistency, and accuracy of existing datasets to ensure reliable analysis.
- Consolidate multiple Excel-based data sources into a structured and scalable analytical model.
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports tailored for operational teams and senior management.
- Create comprehensive reporting solutions covering inspections, risk assessments, customer communications, and remedial works.
- Analyze historical data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that inform strategic decisions.
- Develop predictive analytics and risk-based models to support proactive intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand needs, and deliver actionable insights.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with governance standards throughout the analysis process.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to data processes and reporting tools.
