Data Analyst

Location: Leeds (Hybrid Working)
Rate: £15.23 per hour PAYE
Contract Length: 6 Months
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
Office Attendance: 2 days per week in the office, 3 days working from home

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for several Data Analysts to join a busy operational team during a significant period of system and process transformation. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with data, investigating issues, and ensuring information is accurate and complete.

The role is heavily focused on manual data validation and reconciliation. You will play a key part in supporting the transition to new systems, ensuring data is transferred correctly, identifying discrepancies, and helping maintain high levels of data quality throughout operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, match, and reconcile data across internal systems.
  • Validate information and ensure records are accurately linked.
  • Investigate incomplete, inconsistent, or unmatched data.
  • Identify discrepancies and perform root cause analysis.
  • Manage data exceptions and outstanding items through to resolution.
  • Support system migration and transformation activities by validating transferred data.
  • Carry out system and process testing where required.
  • Maintain accurate records and audit trails.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners to resolve data-related queries.
  • Monitor recurring issues and suggest process improvements.
  • Support reporting on workloads, performance, and trends.
  • Process high volumes of data while maintaining exceptional accuracy.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience working with high volumes of data in a data, operational, or administrative environment.
  • Strong experience in data matching, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable undertaking detailed and repetitive data-focused tasks.
  • Experience working across multiple systems and data sources.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within the energy or utilities sector.
  • Knowledge of metering, billing, or settlement processes.
  • Background in Data Analyst, Data Quality, Data Reconciliation, Data Administrator, or Operations Analyst roles.
  • Experience supporting system implementations, migrations, or transformation programmes.
  • Exposure to UAT or system testing activities.
  • Experience carrying out root cause analysis.
  • Understanding of data governance, compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Experience within regulated or data-intensive environments such as financial services, banking, or telecommunications.

Working Arrangements

  • Hybrid working model.
  • Office location based in Leeds.
  • Office attendance typically required on either Tuesday & Friday or Wednesday & Friday.
  • Structured onboarding and training programme, including office-based training during the first two weeks.
