Data Analyst
Full-time | Glasgow | Up to £35,000 DOE
The Data Gals is partnering with a Glasgow-based organization of around 60 people that is growing its data capability and looking for a Data Analyst to join its team.
This is a great opportunity for an analytical, curious, and commercially-minded person who wants to do more than simply produce reports.
You’ll work across the business, partnering with teams including Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Commercial to turn data into meaningful insight, improve reporting, and support better business decisions.
You’ll be joining a fast-paced environment where there is plenty of opportunity to take ownership, ask questions, and make a visible impact. Your analysis won’t just sit in a dashboard—you’ll have the opportunity to see your work directly influence how teams operate and make decisions.
Whether you’re a recent graduate looking to take your first step into industry or you already have a couple of years’ experience as an analyst, this could be a strong opportunity to develop your technical and commercial skill set.
What you’ll be doing
- Working with teams across the business to understand their challenges and identify where data can add value
- Analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities
- Creating and improving reports, dashboards, and MI to give teams a clear view of performance
- Producing actionable insight to support commercial and operational decision-making
- Working with Marketing, Finance, Operations, and other departments on their reporting and analytical requirements
- Helping stakeholders understand what the data is telling them and what they should do next
- Supporting the development and tracking of key KPIs and performance metrics
- Bringing together data from different sources and ensuring it is accurate, reliable, and useful
- Looking for opportunities to improve existing reporting processes and make better use of data
- Presenting your findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Taking ownership of analytical projects from understanding the question through to delivering the insight
- Using data and emerging AI tools to find smarter and more efficient ways of working

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is curious, analytical, and commercially aware—someone who genuinely wants to understand the story behind the numbers.

- Enjoys solving problems and getting to the root of a question
- Is naturally curious and asks “why?”, not just “what happened?”
- Can turn data into clear, practical insight

- Enjoys working in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Has a commercial mindset and wants to understand how their work impacts the wider business
- Is keen to learn, develop, and build their technical skill set
- Isn’t afraid to challenge existing processes or ask whether something could be done differently

Technical skills
You don’t need to tick every box, but we’d ideally like to see experience with some of the following:
- SQL and/or Python
- Excel
- Power BI, Tableau, or another data visualization tool
- Working with and analyzing datasets
- Building dashboards and reporting
- Data cleansing and manipulation
- Basic statistical analysis
- Understanding of KPIs and performance metrics
- Experience completing a university, personal, or professional data project
We’re particularly interested in people who have strong analytical fundamentals and a genuine appetite to learn. You don’t need to know everything from day one.
Why consider the role?
This is an opportunity to join a growing organization where data is genuinely being used to support decision-making.
You’ll have exposure to multiple areas of the business rather than being restricted to one reporting function, giving you the opportunity to build a broad understanding of how different teams use data.
You’ll also have the opportunity to:
- Work closely with stakeholders across the organization
- Gain exposure to different types of commercial and operational data
- Take ownership of projects and see them through to implementation
- Develop your technical and analytical skills
- Build strong commercial understanding early in your career
- See the direct impact of your analysis on business decisions
If you’re looking for a role where you can learn quickly, work across different departments, and make a tangible impact through data, we’d love to hear from you.
