Role: Data Analyst
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester (Hybrid: 1 to 2 days per week in office)
Salary: Up to £40,000
Are you a data professional with strong SQL and Power BI skills looking to take the next step into modern analytics and Microsoft Fabric?
We are partnering with an established, innovation-focused software business to find a Data Analyst to join their collaborative R&D team. You will report directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager and work alongside experienced software engineers and testers in an environment that actively embraces modern, AI-assisted development tools.
Previous Microsoft Fabric experience is not a must, if you bring solid foundations in SQL and Power BI, the team will provide a dedicated, comprehensive training across Fabric, Azure, and modern cloud data practices.

What You'll Be Doing
- Maintain & Enhance Power BI Reports: Support and optimize existing production dashboards, semantic models, and reporting logic.
- Build New Solutions: Translate business and user requirements into clean, user-friendly reports and visualizations.
- Data Investigation & Querying: Utilize SQL Server to query databases, resolve discrepancies, and ensure reporting reliability.
- Modern Data Platform Growth: Get hands-on exposure to Microsoft Fabric workspaces, semantic models, and data pipelines alongside existing SSRS infrastructure.
- Leverage AI Tools: Pragmatically use AI-assisted tools to streamline SQL/DAX writing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
What We're Looking For
- Core Technical Stack: Hands-on experience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries (SQL Server) and developing/maintaining Power BI reports with DAX.
- Experience Level: Practical experience in data analysis, reporting, or BI.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive, detail-oriented approach to investigating data anomalies and validating business logic.
- Bonus Points: Any exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL/cloud services, or SSRS.
